A beautiful personalised face grain cutting board handmade to order. Each board is created using your choice of responsibly sourced hardwood which includes either Walnut, Maple, Beech, Ash, Cherry or Sapele please see the photos for the differences.
All Wood starts off as "Rough Cut" and the natural beauty of the wood is enhanced using various processes in our workshop including cutting to size, plaining and routing to smooth surfaces.
A laser is used for precision engraving to perfectly personalise making a quality, thoughtful and functional keepsake. Once engraved the wood is treated in mineral oil and Rough Cuts very own board butter to prolong the life of your gift. An extra touch that is offered as standard on all boards are 5mm rubber feet. These produce a stable surface, allows air to circulate and prevents liquids pooling causing absorption under the board.
We also offer an option to add a short personalised note on the rear of the board making it truly personal gift.
Due to the nature of the wood the grain on each board will vary although each will be naturally beautiful!
Rough Cuts only use products that are food safe in the manufacturing of the board and in any process that is designed to enhance the appearance of the final product from Oils, Waxes or Laser Darkener.
The standard boards measure 300mm by 200mm with an approximate depth of 26mm, if you would like a larger board please contact me to discuss.
